Terms of use

Last updated 23 August 2026

DriveCast TV is a tool for watching your own photos and videos on your own television. Use it for that, and these terms will never trouble you.

Using DriveCast TV

You may install and use DriveCast TV on computers and televisions you own or are permitted to use, for personal and family purposes, free of charge.

Your files are your responsibility

DriveCast TV plays the files you point it at. You are responsible for having the right to those files and for what you choose to share with other people. Do not use it to distribute material you do not have the right to distribute.

What we don't promise

DriveCast TV is provided as it is. We work hard to make it reliable, but we cannot promise it will run without interruption, play every file ever made, or work with every television and network. Home networks vary enormously, and some of what affects playback is outside our control.

Keep your own backups. DriveCast TV reads your files and creates converted copies to help your TV play them; it is not a backup tool and should not be relied on as one.

Paid features

Watching at home is free. Watching from a different house will require a subscription when that feature launches, because it costs us money to run every month.

When it does launch: subscriptions renew until you cancel, you can cancel at any time and keep access to the end of the period you have paid for, and cancelling never affects watching at home, which stays free. Prices may change with notice, and payments are handled by a payment provider rather than by us.

Fair use

If away-from-home viewing is used in a way that is clearly not personal or family use — for example redistributing content at scale — we may limit or end that part of the service. This does not affect using the app on your own network.

Updates

The app updates itself so you always have the current version, including fixes and security updates. Features described as coming soon are intentions, not commitments, and may change or not arrive.

Ending it

You can stop using DriveCast TV at any time by uninstalling it. If you have a subscription you can cancel it at any time. We may end access to paid features if these terms are seriously broken.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from using DriveCast TV, including lost data or lost time. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and you may have consumer rights in your country that these terms do not affect.
